The manual uses these words in an exact sense. Where two terms are easily confused, it is noted — confusing them is almost always where the misunderstanding starts.

Data and its source

Term	Meaning	Not to be confused with
Feed	A file or address where a vendor publishes its products. XML, JSON or CSV.	"Export" — that runs the other way, outward from you.
Import	One run of processing a feed.	A feed is the source; an import is the event.
Vendor	A source of products. One vendor = one feed and one download schedule.	"Subvendor" — that only supplements data on existing products.
Subvendor	A supplementary source of data for products already in the catalogue.	It creates no products; it enriches them.
Feed mapping	The prescription of which feed field means which product field.	"Parameter mapping" — that deals with parameter names, not the feed structure.

Product

Term	Meaning	Not to be confused with
Product	One record in the catalogue.
Variant	A specific version of a product — a size, a colour. It has its own price, stock and SKU.	A product with no variants is "simple".
GTIN / EAN	A globally unique barcode for the goods.	"SKU" — invented by each vendor, so not unique at all.
MPN	The designation the manufacturer files the product under.	Unique only within one manufacturer.
SKU	A stock-keeping designation, on a product or a variant.	Two vendors can use the same SKU for entirely different goods.
Product status	Draft, published, archived — plus your own statuses.	"Visibility" — a product can be published and still hidden.

Duplicates

Term	Meaning	Not to be confused with
Link	A confirmation that two records are the same goods. The secondary is hidden; nothing is copied.	Fully reversible.
Merge	Moving variants, images and parameters into one record; the other is archived.	Reversible only through an un-merge, and only by an Admin.
Primary product	The one that survives a merge.
Secondary product	The one archived or hidden.

Normalisation

Term	Meaning	Not to be confused with
Parameter	A property of a product — colour, weight, diameter.	"Attribute" is used synonymously in the application.
Parameter mapping	Matching a feed name to your parameter. "Barva" → "Colour".	Deals with names.
Value mapping	Unifying values of one parameter. "čierna", "black", "BK" → one value.	Deals with content.
Parameter template	The prescription of which parameters a product in a category should carry.	Completeness is measured against it.
Rule	A conditional action: "if this, then that".	"Flow" — that is an order of steps; a rule is one of them.
Flow	The sequence of steps a product goes through after import.

Categories and output

Term	Meaning	Not to be confused with
Vendor category	A category exactly as the feed sent it.	You do not change it.
Manual category	A node of your own tree.	The shop looks the way this tree does.
Category mapping	Matching a vendor's category to your tree.
Transfer	Handing products to another system — an ERP or a shop.	"Export" — that produces a file for comparison sites.
Export / outbound feed	A file at an address you hand to a partner.	The inverse of a vendor's feed.

AI

Term	Meaning	Not to be confused with
Monokaido AI	The platform provider — AI without an API key of your own.	An optional alternative to your own provider.
Monthly allowance	Tokens from your package. They refill, and expire at the end of the period.
Permanent credit	Purchased tokens. They never expire.	Drawn on only once the monthly allowance is spent.
Brand voice	Instructions on the tone the AI should write in.	"Prompt template" — that says what the AI does, not how it reads.
